Sonia was a PhD candidate in MCRL Lab and her main research interest was Augmented Reality (AR) and its applications to Human-Robot Interaction (HRI). Specifically, she was researching prospects of AR in HRI through developing and experimenting intuitive AR user interfaces for various robot applications. She was also interested in STEM education research and worked as a research assistant under an NSF-funded DR K-12 project. Prior to joining MCRL lab, she received her Master’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering from NITK, Surathkal, India and Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, India.
